Catherine , passed by your shop today on way to appointment, it looks cool, just the shop I need. I am a PR Agent for musicians and one of my clients is preparing to shoot a video and looking for vintage clothing. Would it be possible to make appointment with yourself to have a chat about possible hire of clothing
Was looking for a 1940′s dress for an upcoming party. Found your shop online and was hopeful that i’d find something. Then i found out that you sell fur. How hideous. “Vintage”, should not mean cashing in on extreme actions of cruelty, which the fur trade is. Its disgusting that people think its okay to wear and sell nowadays. Whether the fur is old or new, beautiful creatures may have been skinned alive, caught in traps and left for days which means they gnaw through their limbs to escape, vaginally electrocuted… Need i go on. Most people probably don’t realise that you can’t properly date or identify fur unless samples are taken to a laboratory for testing, so they may be wearing cat or dog. Please re-think selling fur, don’t perpetuate cruelty. Only ugly people wear beautiful animals!
Hi, I have used you services for a shoot before, and wondered if you had any male or female clothes in the 1920s styles that i could hire
thankyou
Sophie
Hi, went along to the event at Solent Uni Saturday – had a great time and spent lots of money! Fantastic shopping. Got handed a £5 off any purchase flyer as well but unable to find anything on the website. (hepwrights.com/unidraw)??
cool looking shop – when i walked past yesterday the dress in the window looked like it was a 1950s style – i’m trying to find a 1950s dress with a petticoat – do you have anything like that?
OOh – sounds like you got a flyer for an old promotion – dorry . You do get £5 off in the shop though. Bring in your flyer and see what we have. I might throw in a pressie to make up for the disappointment.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. I don’t think we are ever going to agree but I can share my own thinking on the fur debate with you if you care to send me your email address. Best wishes.
"Hepwrights is a treasure trove of quality vintage, Owner & curator Catherine really knows her stuff, so much so I will be taking a trip back to Southampton from London especially to raid her rails. I love finding a genuinely great vintage boutique and this is one is staying firmly in my stylist address book." Kat Byrne - Closer magazine
Did you know we offer an alterations service on anything you buy from us at Hepwright's? From a simple hemline or seam to a complete restyling of a garment. We can usually make items BIGGER as well as smaller - it's true! And it can be cheaper than you think. Please talk to us at the shop.
Hi! I’ve just moved down to Southampton and love the look of your shop
Do you sell fur? Or is that not something which you stock?
Cheers
xxx
Thank you Hepwrights for the costume!

Yes we do sell fur – except the illegal ones of course! (mainly the spotty ones leopard, ocelot etc.) Make sure you say hi when you come in! Catherine

Yes everything we have is for fire, apart from a very few things that are a little to fragile. 1/3rd of retail price per item, or 25% for students. x
thank you
